Welcome to The “HOPE, HEALING & FREEDOM” Podcast

Hope, Healing & Freedom Podcast : Ep 01

TRANSCRIPT

We are Lee and Cindi Whitman.  We are the Executive Directors of Restoring the Foundations.  We’ve been married since 1979 and in ministry since 1980.  We have 3 adult children, 2 daughters-in-love and 7 grandchildren with the 8th on the way.

We are beginning a new avenue of communicating the exciting message of the Integrated approach of Restoring the Foundations ministry. We are calling it Hope, Healing and Freedom Podcasts. The purpose is to equip you with Biblical truth to empower you to live the abundant life Jesus came to give.  You might be just finding out about RTF, or maybe you’ve received RTF ministry, or you might even be an RTF minister.  This podcast is for you!

During the course of our lives we have been seeking freedom for ourselves and to help others.  In 2010 we were introduced to Restoring the Foundations Integrated Approach to ministry.  After 18 years as a counselor, dealing with people with repetitive problems and cycles and looking for lasting solutions. Holy Spirit nudged my husband and said “This is what you’ve been looking for.  This will work.”  Since then we’ve continued to grow in our training and have been blessed to take many people through the healing ministry of RTF.  It is such an honor to sit across from people as they receive healing from life’s hurts and have new hope in their life!

RTF radically changed us and we know that it can be a catalyst for change in your life!

One of the things that holds many people back is they don’t realize that they need healing or that there is actually more healing and freedom than they are experiencing.  We would’ve told you that we were free when we were first introduced to RTF.  Little did we know that there was so much more!

When I was a kid, I had an aunt who brought the same broccoli casserole dish to our family gatherings. It was the only broccoli casserole I had ever eaten, and to be honest, it was not that good. Since it was the only broccoli casserole I had ever had I thought all broccoli casserole was that bad. It was all I knew. I did not know that I could expect better.

Why are you telling us this story? Because many of us have done the same thing with our relationship with God. Through our experiences, we have learned to settle for something less than what God intended for us to have. We often interpret the Word of God by our experiences rather than making our experiences measure up to God’s Word.

Galatians 5:1 says, “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” Freedom from what? Freedom from anything that holds us in slavery. I had learned by my experience that all broccoli casserole was not very tasty. Then I went to a Cracker Barrel and had their broccoli casserole and it was amazing. It blew my mind! My whole world opened up to the possibility that there is something available that is better.

I had a friend who was taught that the good news of the Christian life is you get to go to heaven when you die. But in the meantime, it will be a meantime. In other words, the best you can hope for here on planet earth is to struggle your way through until you die. What God has for us in our relationship with Him is not just something that you have to struggle through until you get to heaven. It is mind blowingly amazing. The Christian world has placed such an emphasis on having our sins forgiven and going to heaven as our only reward for receiving Jesus as our savior. What God wants to give us is so much more than that. Our experience and quite frankly some of our Christian teaching has taught us to expect less than what God has for us.

In this podcast we are going to raise our expectations in our relationship with God to what is described in the Bible. We want to raise your sights to the level of expecting everything Jesus died to give us and not to allow any “yoke of slavery” to get in the way. Restoring the Foundations is the best tool I know of to help clear away those things that make us “subject again to a yoke of slavery.”

You can expect weekly encouragement on how to walk in Hope, Healing and Freedom. We are going to talk about the things that steal our hope and how to break their hold on our life. We are also going to press into those areas where we all need our souls and spirits and our hearts healed. When we invite Jesus into those wounded places, He brings His heart healing power. We believe the result will be that all of us will experience more freedom in our lives. More Hope, More Healing, More Freedom. That sounds like the abundant life that Jesus was talking about in John 10:10 when He said, I came to give you life, and that life more abundantly.

It is our hope that will join us for these weekly encouragements to live a lifestyle of healing and freedom!
